Medical Ethics: What's Happening on the Hill? - 8-Feb-2008

Tuesday, February 26, 2008 Registration: 5:30pm Program: 6-9pm Summit Club 210 East Methvin Street Longview, Texas RSVP by 2/20/08 to gucms@yahoo.com Who Should Attend This 3 hour interactive program is intended for physicians of all specialties who are interested in practical ways to reduce the potential for malpractice liability. Course Objectives Upon completion of this program, participants should be able to: • discuss current legislative initiatives that may impact their practice, patients and profession; • describe arguments on either side of major health care issues currently on Capitol Hill; • respond appropriately to representatives in government and or/organized medicine to ensure their own views are reflected. About the Speaker Sarah Fontenot, BSN, JD received a BSN from the University of Vermont and a JD from the University of Connecticut School of Law. She specializes in health law and has been involved in medical/legal issues for over 25 years. Sarah teaches health law to graduate students in the Department of Health Care Administration at Trinity University in San Antonio, and she is a faculty member for the Certificate in Business Administration program jointly offered by Auburn University and Southern Medical Association.
